FAQs
Do you accept insurance and what is the cost?
Apart of our mission is to make mental health treatment accessible, therefore we do accept insurance and are “in network” through: Aetna, Cigna, Oxford, UHC, Empire BCBS, and Oscar. We hope to accept more insurances soon. If you do not have insurance, please contact us for our out of pocket costs.
What do I need to know before my telehealth session?
We ask that you take all telehealth appointments in a private and quiet environment with reliable internet connections. In order to be compliant with state and federal regulations please note that:
1) Before starting a controlled substance for the first time, we must have an in-person appointment which will be discussed if applicable.
2) You must be physically located in NY state at the time of your appointment and all prescriptions must be sent to in state pharmacies.
Do you prescribe controlled substances?
Controlled substance medication relevant to mental health include psychostimulants, benzodiazepines, and some sleep aids. Controlled substances are prescribed at this practice if deemed appropriate, however please note that they are prescribed sparingly and the use of benzodiazepines specifically is rare. When controlled substances are indicated they are monitored more closely given their increased side effect profile.
